THAUMACIA
urbs gemina: una in Magnesia, altera in Phthiotide, Thaumaco, vulgo, ad sinum Maliacum, teste Strabone, apud quem l. 9. Θαυμακοὺς, legas. Liv. l. 32. c. 4. Thaumace a Pylis sinuque Maliaco per Lamiam eunti, locô altô siti sunt, ipsis faucibus imminentes eius quem Caelen vocant: Thessaliaeque transeunti con. fragosa loca,d implicitasque flexibus vallium vias, ubi ventum ad hanc urbem est, repente velut maris vasti, sic immensa panditur planities, ut subiectos campos terminare oculis haud facile queas: ab co miaculo Thaumaci appellati.
